It was a while after I found out my true family that I began to get depressed. Sure, I had a wonderful mother, a happy sister, and became crown princess of Yavin IV, and Annika returned HER father - um, OUR father to be nice again, but...
For me, there was still the matter of my own daughter to settle. Arashi. Chibi Yavin IV. And my still-unknown husband in the future.
For me to quiet down, I went down to the local Karaoke bar. We senshi went there often, one time even for a concert, where a lot of us won stuff. I feel, however, that some of the senshi lost a little bit of dignity, and one normal boy lost a LOT of dignity: Peetie. What a goof.
Anyway, it is in that Karaoke bar that this part of my life story begins. I was in my "disguise," not just normal "un-senshi" form, as I sometimes call it, but I had also done my hair up slightly different. I had two heart-shaped odango instead of the meatball ones I usually have. And I was dressed all in blue.
This is how I got my stage name there. Aoi. Blue. It also described my mood most of the time I was there. I was singing a particularly sad song for my small audience one day when a man with violet-streaked blond hair approached me. I finished the song and he started talking rather quickly.
"Youhaveacareeraheadofyouifyoucanjustsignthisandwe'llgetgoingplease?" he rambled off quickly, extending a hand with a datapad in to me. He also held out a small pen-thing to apparently sign the datapad with. I laughed nervously.
"Whoa, slow down there, boy. What on Tatooine are you talking about? And in clear Eng-er, basic, please?" I said, smirking.
He cleared his throat and tried again.
"I said, you have a career in front of you, young lady. I have seen you sing here for many nights now, and I believe my superiors would be quite happy if you would sign a holo-record deal with us." He continued to hold out the datapad and pen to me.
"What? A record deal? With WHO?" I asked. The man sighed.
"With Intergalactic. You know, we produced all of Misha Centurywood's holo-records?" he said, looking at me expectantly.
"Okay, but... why so sudden a decision?" I asked.
We continued a conversation like this for the next hour, until he finally got exasperated and called his "superiors" somewhere on Coruscant. They spoke with me, and I got the gist of it.
I'd make a lot of moola and be famous.
I told him I needed to think about it.
It was back at the room behind the waterfall where I conferenced with Annika.
"But then - they'd figure out you are a senshi, wouldn't they?" she questioned.
I shook my head as I packed. "No, I'd be going under my STAGE name. He doesn't know me as Mika Kaipi, he knows me as Aoi Ryokou-sha. I have to dye my hair and get a whole new wardrobe. I doubt any of the senshi would even recognize me unless they felt my Force signature." I pulled out a bottle of blue hair dye, left over from a prank I had played long ago when I had first come here.
"Would you keep in contact?" she asked. Her blue eyes showed her concern for my well-being.
"Only with you. Everyone else has to think I went off on a... like a pilgrimage or something. To 'find myself,' " I explained. I threw the blue hair dye in the bag, and all my blue clothes along with it.
"What's with the blue theme?" Annika asked, apparently noticing my odd choice of clothing color.
"There's a reason my name is Aoi - it means blue in Japanese. I thought you knew that..."
Annika pouted a bit. "Why not pink?"
I covered a gag. "Oh, I just prefer blue, that's all." That and pink makes me want to puke, but that's beside the point. "Anyway, I'll give you a one-way link to me at all times, 'kay? Just make sure not to lose it." I tossed her a small comlink. She barely caught it. I had just zipped up my bag when Annika ran over and hugged me.
"Oh, I'll miss you, Mikaaaaa!" she cried.
"Ah-anni-kaaaah!" I pushed out. She had me in a death grip. "Not so --- louuu-oud!" She let go and wiped away a small tear.
"I'll call you, okay?" I held up my comlink. "Bye! And take care of Naoko for me!" I ran out the door, making sure none of the other senshi saw me. I turned a corner and -
Ran straight into Link Shinrin. I ran him over and we both fell straight to the floor, me sitting on top of his chest.
"Who? Oh, Mika, it's you," Link said, rubbing his head. I blushed and stood up quickly.
"Link, I'm so sorry, are you hurt? I -"
"It's - it's fine. I'm okay. Where are you off to in such a hurry?" His eyes penetrated my own. I looked down and smoothed my hair as I talked.
"Um, kitchen, there's a cake, and... yeah, bye!" I picked up my bag and ran as quick as I could.
"That's the wrong way to the kitchen!" Link shouted from behind. I blushed deeper and ran faster.
It was little more than a week later when the rest of the galaxy heard about me. Well, heard about Aoi Ryokou-sha, that is. Apparently, I was bigger than the Bespin Boys were at the moment, and that was big news.
It was like a dream come true! I had fans, and when I was in concert, it was just so wonderful! I was just beginning my tour when I got a comlink call from Annika. It was the first time she had called.
"Mi- um, Aoi?" Annika's voice came over hesitantly.
"This is she!" I shouted happily. " 'Nika, it's so nice to hear from you!"
"Oh, I'm glad you're okay! I was getting worried when you didn't call for so long!" she gasped. I giggled.
"Annika-san, I've only been gone for a week!"
"A week, two days, three hours, five minutes, and ten - no eleven seconds!"
"Annika... It's not like you to worry so much. What's wrong?"
Silence came from the opposite end of the comlink.
"I'm worried for my little sister, that's all."
I sighed. "That's understandable. You don't have to worry though! I can take care of myself quite fine."
"Good, then. Now, though, the others are worried, especially Naoko. They need to hear from you."
"They will, I think. Maybe I'll send a letter or something. Talk to you later, Annika, I have a practice session in a few seconds!" I closed the link and threw the comlink in my pocket.
A small black cat was walking in the rafters of the stadium where Aoi was playing her next concert. It was just as her mother had said. A blue-clothed figure walked onto the stage, followed by her band. The girl stepped around the stage, getting used to the layout.
The cat uttered a few words and became a teenage girl. Her own clothes were a tight black jumpsuit, to better camouflage her. Her hair would've been the only thing to stand out, but even that was covered. Only her dark blue eyes showed out of this costume of sorts.
The blue-haired girl was now singing a slow song, one that hit the jump-suited girl in the heart.
"Hush a bye, don't you cry, go to sleep little baby..."
The jump-suited girl nearly fell. She couldn't stand to hear this song again.
She couldn't stand her own existence. What kind of life was this, to be rejected by all that you thought loved and cared for you? Even her old master had turned her out by now.
Maybe the girl's mind could be finally put to rest. As long as Aoi was killed, she wouldn't have to listen to this song, or her own mind's ravings.
She would be gone. And that was fine with her. It was what she wanted.
I tested the stage with my own usual song. It was a lullaby I had learned on Earth when I was very young. For some reason, that song had always touched my heart.
The band clapped appreciatively when I was finished.
"That was great, Aoi!" the drummer smiled. His nickname was Grin, and for a very good reason.
"Thanks, but I need a little more of a warm-up than that to get ready for tonight. Wanna start with that new one, 'In my Heart?' " I asked, pulling out a fake microphone. Grin frowned.
"Aw, man, that's such a slow beat..."
"I like it. There's a good guitar solo in the middle," Ryo commented. He is, of course, the guitarist. The pianist nodded in agreement.
" 'In my Heart' it is then!" I shouted. My voice carried far off the stage.
I began to sing after the short intro. "I've looked all around this world, to find someone like you. I didn't want to believe it at first, but I know it has to be true. I just wish that you knew, too. That you knew:
"Right here in my heart, a love for you so true. Somewhere in my soul, I knew it was always you. And in my mind I can see where we've been and where we will be, and you always will be in my heart."
I continued to sing, the words pouring out of my own soul. These words were from my heart, to a special guy out there. 'Course, he doesn't know who he is... yet. I'll find the courage to tell him someday.
The room behind the waterfall was in a bustle. Mika hadn't returned or even called! It wasn't like her to not keep in touch.
Through all of this, Annika had to stay silent. Sure, she knew where Mika was, but she was still worried.
The one person running around the most during this time was Link, of course. He was worried to the point of nearly throwing up about Mika. He hadn't even had time to talk to her a whole lot yet! She couldn't be gone!
Naoko was questioned numerous times about Mika's whereabouts. Naoko hadn't a clue either, obviously. Annika wanted to tell so badly.
It was then that one of the girls came in, headset playing. Link ran over to her, no clue who she was, but still a bit angered.
"There's a girl missing! And all you do is listen to a recording!??!?" he shouted. The girl cringed and took off her earphones.
"It's that new girl on the scene. Aoi Ryokou-sha. Listen to it, it's very calming!" The girl promptly put the headphones over Link's ears before he could protest.
"Right here in my heart..."
Link melted, which is not something guys do often. This song... it reminded him of her...
As soon as the phones were off his ears, he began running frantically again. Mika was still missing!
That, and he had to get this album!
It wasn't long before Annika called me again. This time, she said, the senshi were in an uproar of sorts. They couldn't find me anywhere. Chouko was blaming an intergalactic conspiracy, and some of the senshi were - gasp! - believing her!
That meant it was definitely serious. I had to write to them. As soon as Annika was off the comlink, I began writing.
Dear senshi-gals (aaaand guys!),
I am writing from on tour with this new act called Aoi.
She's pretty nice. I've been helping her set up for the concerts,
and am also a bodyguard sometimes.
I've taken this trip to clear my mind. Most of you know about my
future daughter, and how things haven't been going so well. I need
some time off from being a senshi to just be a teenager.
So don't worry about me, and sorry it took so long to write! I miss
you all!
Love,
Mika
I nodded after I finished. That should do it. I figured that saying I was working for Aoi would throw them off my trail a bit, in a way. The bodyguard idea I got from Episode 1. Neat, eh?
I sent it through my datapad straight to the Room Behind the Waterfall. Then it was back to business. I had a concert in an hour, and the pianist was having trouble with my number one song! More practice was due.
This is harder than I thought it would be...
" '...and sorry it took so long to write! I miss you all! Love, Mika,' " Annika finished reading. She put down the letter as the senshi took a collective sigh of relief.
"Wow, Mika's touring with Aoi! That's so cool!"
"Yeah, maybe she can get us tickets to an upcoming concert. I heard Aoi is coming to Coruscant sometime soon..."
Annika went to lie down. As the sister of the once-"missing" person, she had been kept up at all hours of the night. Of course, Obi-Wan had been by her side the whole time, so it wasn't ALL bad.
Link was the most relieved. He had feared the worst, what with all those Sith out there. And there was that one Sailor Sith who seemed to be after Mika in particular. That Chibi Yavin IV, Mika's daughter, right? He was still a bit fuzzy on that one.
Link needed to clear his head. He went back to his room and listened to his Aoi Ryokou-sha recordings. They seemed to calm him very well, just like Mika's presence did.
Boy, did he miss her.
Okay, maybe being a super star isn't as great as I thought it would be. Right now, I'm tired, a bit crabby, and very easily annoyed. Someone knocked.
"What!"
A meek-sounding voice came from the other side. "Um, Aoi, Miss, there's someone to see you... he says it's important."
"Fine. Bring him in." I sighed. It was probably the manager guy again, the guy with the purple-streaked hair.
To my own surprise, it wasn't. In fact, it was someone I had never met before. He had hair the same color as mine was now, and deep brown eyes.
He grinned widely and bowed down past his waist. Much more respect than I deserved.
"Hello, Miss Ryokou-sha," he said, his head still down. He stood up straight again. "It is lovely to meet your acquaintance."
"And you as well. You are...?"
He blushed, his face as red as his hair was blue. "I apologize. You see, I'm rather, er, nervous right now. I've been waiting to meet you since you came on the scene. Even though it was only a few weeks ago, it seems like forever, and -"
I gave him a small look. He coughed.
"Sorry. To the point, right. I'm Satoshi."
I stifled a giggle. That was Ash Ketchum's name in Japan.
He noticed this slight movement.
"What's wrong?"
I cleared my throat. "Oh, nothing, I just had something in my throat, that's all."
Satoshi looked straight in my eyes. "Good, I thought I had said something to offend you. Anyway, on to why I am here.
"Your manager suggested you needed an opening act, something to get the crowd revved up. I'm part of a local rock band that got scouted and hired. We -"
"What kind of rock?" I asked lazily.
"A bit softer stuff, but with a good melody, quick beat, stuff like that," he explained. "Anyway, he thought we'd be a good addition to your show, a good way to get the crowd excited to see you."
"Did the manager already set you up with a contract and everything?" I questioned. Satoshi nodded.
He smiled widely. "I can't wait to start working with you."
As he turned around and left, I couldn't help but think how much he reminded me of Link.
Arashi watched from the shadows as the young man left her mother's dressing room. Being a black cat had its advantages, and this was one of them.
The man began singing to himself, singing a love song he himself had written. Arashi followed behind to listen. This guy could be helpful to her plans.
"...can't you see, that we should be together, yeah, you and me should have been with one another from the start..." The young man smiled as he changed the next lyrics. "Me and A-o-i..."
Arashi stopped and hid behind a hallway corner as he continued walking. Yes, this would be perfect. This would be perfect indeed.
Link sat in his room, listening to his Aoi Ryokou-sha album as he read up on the newest star on the Intergalactic record label. No matter how much he searched, he couldn't find much about her past. Just how she was found in a karaoke bar and was hired on the spot, and her number one hit.
After his futile search, he looked at a holo pic he had taken in secret of Mika laughing as he listened. It had been after the karaoke contest where they had won an award for singing together.
Link remembered it fondly. The way she looked at him when they were singing, like it was coming straight from her soul. And he sang right back in the same way. Her beautiful voice.
She should have been where Aoi was right then, up on that stage.
I was having a fun time, I'll admit, playing with the band during practices. Despite the grueling hours and travel, the exhaustion, the lack of sleep, it was worth it just to have fun on the stage beforehand with my band.
The other fun part was watching the OTHER act that was on stage before me, Satoshi's band. He was a fairly good singer, and his band was all right. The bass guitarist could've used a bit of work knowing his chords... major clashing going on there but other than that they were fine.
I missed my friends back home, though. My sister, my kitty, my comfy bed, watching Z-Files with Chouko, eating tons of candy with Annika, actually getting sleep...
Staring at Link when he didn't notice it...
"Aoi! Aoi, you listening?"
Satoshi was shouting from the stage. The other members of my band were already up on stage with him.
"Oh, what?" I was dazed from my daydreaming.
"I said we're going out to eat, Aoi, wanna come with us?" Satoshi grinned like a rogue. "Or are you too famous to go out to the local Burger Monarch to eat?"
"I'm never too famous to eat out there. They always have those cool senshi toys," I said. I trotted up on the stage. "Like that Yavin IV one that trips when you press a button on her back." I tripped on a cord about three feet away from the group. "Aaaaaah!" THUD. "Oww..."
"Seems like you two could be related, with all the tripping and falling you do," Ryo commented. Satoshi offered his hand to help me up. I took it.
Something happened. I felt something coming from Satoshi, a feeling. He pulled me up and we were toe-to-toe once I stood.
"Thank you," I said quickly. I brushed off my pants and stepped back. Too close, and that feeling he emitted...
"Well, let's go!" Grin shouted, jogging off. I quickly followed.
We actually got a private booth at Burger Monarch for my star status. I didn't even know they HAD private booths at Burger Monarch. All the things you learn as a star...
We had a nice lunch before the performance. We all got the kids meals, so we could get toys. Grin got a Sailor Bakura toy, which was made from the same mold as Yavin IV's toy (or vice-versa, whichever you prefer), except instead of tripping, it shouted "For peace and love, I am Sailor Bakura!" in a voice much unlike Annika's.
Ryo got one of the newer toys, one of the cats: it was Pinku. All they had it do was mew rather pathetically. I grimaced inside. I hope Pinku never knows that toy exists.
The pianist, Apollo, got a Tuxedo Jedi figure. It had an action button on its back that, when pressed, made Tuxedo Jedi whack stuff with his lightsaber/cane. They had Bakura and Tuxedo Jedi duke it out on the table. I had a hard time not laughing harder than the rest of them. Knowing these people made it even funnier. I actually couldn't see them fighting about anything, but it was hilarious nonetheless. Bakura's voice box thing was damaged during the fight somehow so it sounded like she was now saying "For love and peach, I am Sailor Bakura!"
Satoshi ironically got the Yavin IV figure, which he made trip into the ketchup. He also did a stupid falsetto voice, saying, "Did I spill something on me?"
I giggled, and then opened my own toy. I had gotten a Yavin IV Knight figure. It looked just like Link. This figure didn't do much; it was one of those poseable figurines. I had the strongest urge to take the Yavin IV doll and make them start kissing. But, alas, I didn't, because the Sailor Yavin IV figurine was still covered in ketchup.
"You know, if it weren't for the ketchup on this, you two look awfully alike," Satoshi said. I laughed in what I hoped was a "I-don't-know-anything-I'm-not-Sailor-Yavin-IV-or-anything-like-that" sort of way. He looked me in the eye.
"Except you're a lot prettier."
I stopped laughing in that moment, and my stomach churned. Did he...?
"Um, excuse me, I've got to go to the bathroom," I said, getting up quickly. The chair made that hideous sound of metal scraping linoleum the wrong way as I pushed it back into the table. I walked to the bathroom. I got to the hallway when a hand on my shoulder stopped me. I turned around.
It was Satoshi, with a soft look in his eyes. He took both my hands with his own.
"I really mean it," he said quietly. I looked at the floor. He kissed my hands once.
"Just please - think about us, okay?" He let go gently and went back to the table.
I went to the bathroom and washed off my face. I pulled my Yavin IV Knight figurine out of my pocket and stared at it for a few seconds.
I didn't know what to do.
That night was one of the best concerts I had ever given. The crowd sang along to all the songs, and I even took a few up on stage with me to sing along. I felt like the Garth Brooks of the Star Wars galaxy. My new debut song - in concert only - was, unbeknownst to the crowd, from one of the DiC Sailor Moon albums.
"Got up this morning, on the right side of my bed, with all these crazy thoughts screaming through my head. I can't wait to see what this world holds for me.
"Oh, it's a new day, oh, it's a new day.
"And when I see you, anytime or anyplace, you are the reason for the smile on my face, 'cause you make me feel all my dreams can be real.
"Oh, it's a new day, oh, it's a new day.
"It feels so good to be alive, even if a little rain should fall, 'cause every moment brings a new surprise to us all.
"Oh, it's a new day, oh, it's a new day, oh, it's a new day, oh, it's a new day.
"Here in you I found a friend, you'll be with me 'till the end.
"Oh, it's a new day!"
If you've heard the song, then you know it sounds like one of my favorite song styles - mid-eighties soft rock. So do all the other songs on the album, as a matter of fact. It seems to be a staple of anime.
Anyway, after the concert, I got the REST of my tour schedule for the next month. Most of the places were highly-populated planets, and one of the concerts was with - shudder - N*aboo. I thought I had told my manager not to book me with them. Oh, well, I could fake liking their music for one night, I think. I had faked liking music like theirs all the time on Earth, so one night shouldn't be a problem.
There was still the dilemma with Satoshi and the way he acted towards me that one night. I didn't want to bother Annika, although she probably would've liked to help, and all the band members were guys.
I thought I loved Link. Then came Satoshi, and he threw my world into pieces.
This is why I never dated on Earth.
Peetie, always one to keep up on the new musical groups, was jumping around excitedly when he heard that Aoi Ryokou-sha was coming right next to the Jedi Temple for her concert in a month. Once word got around, almost the whole senshi group was hopping around, and began asking Annika to beg her sister for tickets.
After a week of such activity, Annika had had enough begging, especially since no one had the right way of begging - they didn't give her any presents, just bugged her all the time. She relented and, in secret, called Mika on the comlink.
"Aoi Ryokou-sha! How may I help you today?" Mika's bright voice came over.
"Mika, I need tickets to your next concert on Coruscant, the one next to the Jedi Temple."
Mika blinked. Annika wasn't usually this bossy.
"Something wrong, 'Nika-san?"
Annika sighed. "The guys and girls are bothering me to ask you for tickets to the Coruscant concert. They thought since you're Aoi's bodyguard, you could get them free tickets and backstage access," Annika explained. She took a breath. "And they won't leave me alone until I guarantee them that I have the tickets, or that they're at least on the way here."
Mika could be heard taking and releasing a deep breath over the com. "I don't know. This could majorly blow my cover, sis. What happens if I'm there, but I'M not?"
Annika paused. "I'm not following you, Mika."
She cleared her throat. "What if AOI is here, but MIKA isn't?"
"Ohh, I get what you're saying. Well, couldn't you - I mean, Mika - just be on an errand, or sick or something like that? I really need to get these people to stop bugging me..."
"All right, I'll send tickets. How many do you need?" Mika relented.
Annika paused again. "Around eighteen or so, and permission to bring a cat along."
"EIGHTEEN??!?!?!" Mika shouted. "And permission to bring a CAT?!?"
"Well, Solai wants to go along, too..."
"Yeah, well, I can't them bring a CAT with!"
Annika blew out a long breath. "We'll hide him, all right?"
"...All right. I'll send the tickets as soon as possible. And backstage passes."
"Oh, thank you sooooo much, Mika!" Annika said.
"No problem." Mika cut the comlink.
I cut the connection to Annika's com link. Eighteen tickets and permission to bring a cat...yikes. Try explaining THAT to my manager...
"Aoi! Miss Aoi!"
I peeked around the open door and saw Ryo coming down the hallway, breathless.
"What's wrong? Ryo?" He stopped and looked at me gravely.
"It's Satoshi. He fell off the stage, onto the seats."
"Satoshi-san... c'mon, we gotta hurry!" I ran as fast as I could towards the stage. I would've made quite a few wrong turns, since I didn't know the layout well, but Ryo guided me along.
It was easy to see where he fell, as there was a crowd of people surrounding him. There was an odd feeling, a ripple in the Force. It was the feeling of Satoshi's pain, I was sure.
I ran through the crowd, pushing my way to Satoshi. He looked hurt, but mainly bruised and a broken leg and possibly a broken arm. His head was fine, it seemed. I could tell all that through the Force.
They had unwisely moved Satoshi, possible hurting him more. He was now on the ground, on top of a small blanket. I knelt down next to him.
Satoshi turned his head and slowly looked at me. "Aoi..."
"Someone call the nearest medical facility, and say a friend of Aoi's needs help. A broken leg and arm, multiple serious bruises, possible internal bleeding... tell them he fell off the stage onto the seats." I looked at my band members. "GO!"
The three members ran to the nearest phone. Satoshi's band members looked at me, dumbfounded.
"Get some things so I can splint his leg and arm, and some soft blankets." They nodded, confused, and ran off. Now I could get to work.
"Aoi... am I d-dying?" Satoshi closed his eyes slowly.
"No, no, just sit back and relax..."
I used the Force and searched for injuries. I also began to calm his pain as much as I could. I had only had very basic training with this, and only on myself, as I get injured often and hurt often as well due to a stupid medical condition.
He was banged up pretty badly. No damage to the head, neck, or spine. His left leg was badly broken, the part below the knee. His arm wasn't broken, to my surprise, but his shoulder was dislocated. He had bruises all over, especially on his back. That was presumably where the chairs had hit him.
"What are you doing?" Satoshi asked quietly.
"Helping you. It will be easier if you relax, okay?" Satoshi began to nod. "And don't move. You could make things worse."
He seemed to be getting through the pain, and able to talk at about the level of a whisper.
"Something made me trip... lost my balance. And something shoved me even farther, a prodding..."
"Shh... you could hurt yourself further. Let me do my work." I closed my eyes and put my hand on his leg where the fracture was. I could feel him wince as I touched it gingerly. I put the bones closer together, causing Satoshi to jerk. It was difficult to heal and stop the pain at the same time.
"You're using the Force, aren't you?"
I didn't reply, but continued to work on his leg. It hadn't shattered, thank goodness; it was broken cleanly.
"You... did you think about what I said?" Satoshi asked.
I opened my eyes and shot him a small look. "This isn't the time for that, Satoshi-san."
That was when Satoshi's band members came back with some blankets and what looked like pieces of wood from the "set" on the stage. They also brought some cables to tie the splint with. Good enough.
Satoshi's band members ran to get some things for him at the hospital. I sent them off so I could continue on.
I eased the pain a bit more and began making the splint. Satoshi continually winced as I did this, near the point of crying. Of course, being as he was a guy, he didn't cry. Typical.
Ryo ran in, breathless. "We called, they're sending in someone and will be there in about ten minutes." He looked at me oddly. "What are you doing?"
I was about to ask him why HE asked ME what I was doing when I remembered that I WAS in a rather odd position. My hand on the fracture isn't exactly a usually-helpful thing. Not to anyone who didn't know I was using the Force, anyway.
"She's healing it," Satoshi choked out. "Force-healing."
Ryo looked shocked. "FORCE-healing?"
Grin and Apollo finally ran in, not being as athletic as Ryo was. They looked at his shocked face.
"What happened?"
Ryo managed to repeat what had happened. They looked at me, with their eyes wide open.
"FORCE-HEALING? Since when did you have use of the Force? And that well?" Grin questioned.
"That's some difficult Force stuff, Aoi, when did you pick it up?" Apollo added.
"And why didn't you tell us?" Ryo's voice had picked up an accusing tone.
"Hey... injured person here," Satoshi coughed.
"Sorry, Satoshi-san. And as for the Force thing, that's a secret between us five, okay? I'm self-trained." I continued to work on Satoshi's leg in the next moments of silence. "Don't say a word to anyone else."
"How come the Jedi didn't pick you up?" Apollo continued.
"I don't know, I think my parents didn't tell them, I'm not sure." I let up on Satoshi's leg. It was as good as I could get it, but it would still take a while to mend on its own.
"Can you do anything for my shoulder?" Satoshi asked. I scooted forward to have a better look at his shoulder.
"No, I think I won't mess with that. Let the medical people take care of it." Satoshi's band members walked in at that point with some blankets. I thanked them for the blankets and propped up his head gently. "I don't wanna mess with popping your shoulder back in."
"Can you...?" Satoshi slightly gestured with his arm towards his head. I eased the pain slightly with the Force again. He leaned back more into the blankets. "Thank you." His look pierced my gaze. I had to turn away.
"You're welcome." I stood up and wiped off my pants. "Now we just have to wait for the med people to show up." I sat in the front row and concentrated on taking the pain away from Satoshi.
The med people came in about eight minutes. They put Satoshi's neck in a brace and took him off on a gurney. We followed in an automobile-thing (what are those called in the Star Wars universe? Hover cars?) driven by Apollo. The whole ride was silent.
Arashi watched as this blue-haired young man was practicing on stage. He tripped over a wire near the edge of the stage, and she gave him an extra "push" off the stage and onto the front row of seats. Hearing the commotion and feeling this shock of his pain made her smile, even in her feline form.
Aoi ran in, and began shouting orders at the other two groups of young men standing next to them. They ran away as told.
Arashi laughed. Her mother always did have a way of making people do things when ordered.
She waited and began to run as the ambulance took off later. She jumped onto the back of the vehicle, and held on tight.
Her plan had gone into motion already.
"...And in entertainment news, Satoshi Terada, member of the new band 'The Others,' was injured today during a band practice. Reportedly, he fell off the stage onto the front row of seating, dislocating his shoulder and slightly fracturing his leg. His band and the other act he is touring with, Aoi Ryokou-sha, escorted him to the hospital. He is in stable condition at the St. Galaxy hospital on Naboo." The reporter continued to drone as some of the senshi girls began chatting.
"That new cute act? Satoshi?"
"He got hurt? He fell off the STAGE?"
"Aren't he and Aoi an item?"
Annika bit her nails. She thought Mika liked Link. And someone falling off the stage wasn't exactly normal. She was more worried than before about her sister. It was time for another comlink call.
They had to take odd measures - or at least what I thought were odd measures - for a slightly broken leg and dislocated shoulder. I didn't get why he was hooked up to an IV-like device and ushered into a hovering bed. His manager - well, OUR manager, actually - wasn't taking this lightly. He wanted to make sure Satoshi was okay. They did a bunch of tests and had him stay overnight to make sure he didn't have a concussion. I guess I don't blame them, though.
We all sat next to Satoshi's bed, entertaining him by riffing the holovid-screen above his bed. He cheered up, and, in the middle of a particularly good riffing, my comlink beeped. I excused myself and went into the hospital room's bathroom. "Annika, this is NOT a good time."
"Is he all right?"
"Who?"
"That Satoshi guy, of course!" Annika blasted. I turned the comlink volume down a bit.
"Yeah, he's fine. I'm at the hospital with him and my band. Why? Did you hear it on the news or something?" I asked.
"Yes, and the other girls in the room at the time began talking about you and Satoshi."
I gulped. "Yeah, what about it?"
"They said you two were a couple." She paused. "Didn't you like Link?"
"I don't really want to discuss it right now, it's complicated. I'll talk to you later, the band might get suspicious." I cut the connection and switched the comlink off. Stepping out of the bathroom, I was informed by Ryo that visiting time was over and we still hadn't practiced for tonight's concert in a few hours. We said our goodbyes and left Satoshi to sleep.
Arashi had jumped and hid in the toilet when Mika/Aoi walked into the bathroom. She never thought she'd come in here!
She didn't listen to the conversation, but got the gist that her aunt Annika thought Mika and Satoshi were dating. That was great.
She finally left, and Aoi left the bathroom. Arashi watched through the cracked door as Mika and her band and Satoshi's band left. The nurse then came in, checked his vitals, and said goodnight. She turned off the lights and shut the door.
Arashi crept, still in cat form, out from the bathroom and to the right side of Satoshi's bed. She jumped onto Satoshi's lap and hushed him with a paw. She detransformed and began speaking, not letting Satoshi get a word in.
"You like her, don't you? Aoi? Of course you do," she continued, never taking her hand off of Satoshi's mouth. His eyes widened. "I know, don't try to deny it. However, how would you feel about her if you knew that she was the one who 'pushed' you off the stage tonight? Gave you that extra shove to land on the seats? Who else in that group has the Force? Nobody, that's who! But she didn't expect you to live, so she made it seem like she cared, helping you with your broken limb and pain. Think about it, she has a very good reason to bump you off."
"Why?" came a muffled question from Satoshi. Arashi hushed him and continued.
"You and your friends, The Others, as you call yourselves, are a hot group right now in the entertainment business. So is she. But maybe she's scared. Scared that you'll steal her spotlight, her glory, fame, her money. She doesn't care how she gets it. She needs it, and that's all that matters to her. If you become more famous than her, she'll lose her paycheck, her record deals. She'll lose her fame. She doesn't want that, so she kills you. It doesn't work. She'll keep trying until you're dead and gone, and there's nothing anyone can do about it."
Satoshi blinked slowly, looking into the mysterious girl's eyes. Her dark blue gaze was almost hypnotic. He waited for her to go on.
"Unless we get her first. Do you understand what I mean?"
Satoshi's own eyes got darker, more evil. He nodded.
Arashi smiled. He was clay in her hands. It was perfect.
She began the whole explanation, which went through the night. She disappeared in the morning as soon as the nurse came to check on him again.
As Arashi trotted down the street, she could only think of one thing:
"I'll be gone. Rid of this miserable existence once and for all. Good riddance, mother. Good riddance, me!"
The next morning we went to pick up Satoshi, who was pronounced being of good health and a broken leg and sore shoulder. They gave him some painkillers, a little hover cart thing (like a wheelchair, only hovering), and a cast on his leg. His arm was also in a sling, and he had a brace on his shoulder.
"How am I gonna eat like this?" Satoshi remarked, pointing to his shoulder. I laughed.
"Looks like someone's going to have to hand-feed you, eh?" Grin commented.
Satoshi looked at me. "Yeah, maybe."
I blushed.
Our manager came running up to us. "We need to get going! Our next concert is in thirty-six hours, and we're not even on that planet yet! Hurry up!"
So, we hurried. We gathered our things and ran to our spaceship, Space Star. While the guys - excluding Satoshi - loaded up the ship, I pulled the Yavin IV Knight toy out of my pocket.
"You act like you've met him."
I jumped. Turning around, I saw it was only Satoshi.
"Satoshi-san, you scared me! Don't sneak up on me like that!" I quickly stuffed the figurine back in my pocket. "I get a horrible feeling in my stomach when people do that!"
"Have you met him?"
I searched for an answer. "Well, yeah, once, for a moment... but I didn't even hear him talk or anything, so really I just saw him..."
Satoshi looked smug. "Oh, REALLY. Since when did you see a Sailor Jedi?"
"Um, well, you see, he, um..."
"Time to go! Get on the ship and let's jet!" Grin shouted back to us.
I gave Satoshi's hoverchair a shove towards the spaceship door. "Let's go! Ahehe..."
I wiped the sweat off my forehead. I was never a good liar. Personally, the 'animal cookie mating habits' story comes immediately to mind...
"C'mon, hurry up, or Manager Boy here's going to have a fit!" Grin yelled as he and Satoshi went up the ramp into the ship. I giggled and followed suit.
No matter what troubles, my band always knows how to cheer me up, and make fun of the manager while doing it.
Arashi hadn't had any trouble sneaking onto the ship. In fact, Satoshi himself had secured a rather comfortable spot inside the luggage compartment for her feline form. Much more comfortable than her cardboard box back on Coruscant.
She thought about her living arrangements on the city planet. Compared to her living quarters in her former master's home, that was a mansion. Her first night there was one of the worst...
Arashi shook her head and pushed the memory down farther. None of it mattered now. Syn had left her as well. She was unwanted. Her mother, father, master had left her. Arashi couldn't stand it.
The only thought that kept her happy was that of her own death, soon to come. Her mother would be dead, and she would never know this life.
I couldn't have waited any longer for the concert on Coruscant to come. I needed to see my friends from the Room Behind the Waterfall again, especially Annika.
Plus, Satoshi had tried to get us together more and more. I got more and more confused. It didn't help when Satoshi got me a small figure of him that they were now selling at Burger Monarch. I kept both it and the Yavin IV Knight toy in my pockets. I wouldn't have kept the Satoshi one if it weren't for the fact that he kept asking if I had it.
Every hour leading up to the concert was nerve-racking. The lights kept screwing up and the sound would go out every once in a while. To top it off, Grin kept playing practical jokes on me, like having my lunch box filled with rotted fish. Yuck.
Apollo was the only one who managed to keep a calm head. He was always like that. Without him, I don't think the show would've gone on!
It was an hour before the concert when the senshi - in normal form - showed up. There was Annika, Priire (with Solai on her shoulder), and Yuki...
Then I saw Link. He had come!
I tried to keep a clear head.
"Oh, you must be Annika, right? Pleased to meet you." I shook hands with Annika and gave her a quick wink to let her know for sure it was actually me, not Aoi - well, you know what I mean.
"Where's Mika?" Mara asked.
"Well, um, that is, er, well, she had to go get some things. You see, we've been having trouble with the stage, and so none of US could leave, so we sent her to get some food, and she hasn't come back yet, so... I don't know exactly where she is." I took a deep breath. That had been a mouthful.
"Okay, so now what do we do?" Priire asked.
"Well, would you like a tour of the backstage? Mika said you'd probably be interested." I looked at the purse Priire was holding. "What's in there?" The purse was huge, and not black. Very out of place, especially for Priire. My guess is that it was Solai in there.
Priire pulled the shoulder strap of the bag up higher. "Something that is not very light."
I laughed. "Well, I can obviously see that! Is that the cat Mika told me about?"
Most of the group was taken aback that I knew. A small gray head poked out of the purse.
"Er coughcough meow!" Solai said.
"Oh, isn't he cute!" I gently plucked Solai from the purse and gave him a quick nuzzle. He began purring. "What a sweetie!" I set him on my shoulder, where he rested comfortably. I turned back to the group. "So, where to first?"
Mara wanted to see the stage, to test the sound system, so that was our first stop. The senshi ran excitedly around the large stage, and some played with the instruments. Luckily, Grin hadn't left his drumsticks up there, so no one could play the drums. That would've been a racket. Mara picked up the microphone and sang a quick song. We clapped and I moved the group on before someone picked up Ryo's electric or acoustic guitar and broke one of the strings.
I gave them the grand tour of the backstage, and they all met my band. Mori introduced the group to my band as Annika took me aside for a moment. She put Solai back on Priire's shoulders before she talked to me.
"Mika, you okay?" she whispered. I nodded.
"Just nervous, we've had problems with the stage and light and sound systems, Grin keeps playing jokes on me - it's been a long day," I mumbled. "It'll be all right."
"...and this is Annika!" Mori finished, pointing to Annika. She nodded and smiled.
"Boy, you and Aoi look a lot alike!" Grin pointed out. We both blushed. I quickly moved everyone onto the backstage part where The Others were staying.
"Ooh, will we meet your boyfriend, Satoshi Terada?" Miyuki blurted. She quickly slapped her hand to her mouth as Tenchi nudged her in the gut. "Oh, sorry, none of my business..."
I laughed as naturally as I could. "Yes, there have been vicious rumors about us, haven't there? Well, I'm afraid there isn't any truth to them."
"Sure. May we continue?" Annika said. She knew I was uncomfortable about that subject.
It wasn't long before the concert began. The senshi group was in the very front row, with Solai perched atop Priire's head - to Priire's dislike, I'm sure. Satoshi began the show as planned, and did a wonderful job. He introduced me once I got on stage, but then he gave me a quick kiss on the cheek. The crowd seemed to erupt even louder. I gave him a kind glance, but inside I was scowling.
"Hey everyone! Thanks for coming here tonight!" I had out my onstage microphone; it had a bright blue star on it right below the actual part you speak into. It was like those microphones the news networks use. "You guys ready for some fun?"
"YEA!" was the resounding reply.
"Allllll riiiiight! Let's get going, then!" I nodded to Grin, who counted off our top number.
"Up at six, gotta get going, have breakfast for the morn. Get my hair done get my bag and get my trumpet horn - I'm gonna be late, can't be late 'cuz he'll be there for me. My best friend and maybe more - I just gotta wait and see!
"The guy who sits next to me, my best friend he'll always be, come on, baby, don't be late, maybe, maybe, just maybe who knows - you'll get asked for a date!
"Run around the school's halls, get my books and go, I'm always running always leaving, I must be too slow. I just can't wait I just can't wait 'cuz he'll be there for me - waiting at the door right there, right away at three!"
I sang the chorus twice before ending in a very long drum solo and a chord ending the song. The crowd erupted once more. I kept on with some more upbeat songs - including some songs off the DiC Sailor Moon album (if asked by the senshi about them, I'd say Mika told me about the songs). Then came what was unplanned - to my manager, anyway.
"I have some friends here tonight - well, friends of a friend who's my bodyguard of sorts - and one of 'em likes to sing, according to her." I looked down at the senshi group and looked them over for one person in particular. Mara looked rather confident, but she wasn't whom I was referring to. "Ah, there you are! Now, she told me your name is Link, isn't that right?"
Link and Mara looked taken aback, Link more than Mara. He pointed to himself slowly and mouthed, "Me?"
I nodded and laughed. Link always did seem modest.
"C'mon up here! Come on!" I said, extending a hand.
Some of the senshi gave him encouragement. Nami, Miyuki, and Mara actually gave him a shove onto the stage, and I pulled him up.
He gave a nervous wave to the audience as I spoke. "Now, she told me you won a karaoke contest with her, isn't that right?"
"Y-yes, we did," he stuttered.
"Now, she wanted me to sing the song you won with that night with you! Whaddya think, Link?"
He stepped back. "But - but I don't have a mic!"
"Yo, Ryo, wanna toss me a microphone?" I shouted back. Ryo fished into a box on the stage and pulled out my back-up wireless mic. He tossed it to Link, who fumbled with it before catching it. The audience laughed a bit.
"Nervous, eh?" I commented. He gulped and nodded, so I gave him a pat on the back. "Don't worry, from what she told me, you'll do great!"
His eyes brightened. "Really?"
I smiled. "Really. Just pretend I'm her, maybe it'll be easier." He nodded, and I gave the signal to Grin to start up the drums. As soon as the song started, Link had a look of recognition on his face.
"What if I said..."
I smiled gently. He remembered.
"We've been friends, for a long, long time. You tell me your secrets, and I tell you mine. She's left you all alone and you feel like no one cares. But I will never fail you, I'll always be there..." Mika looked into Link's eyes.
"You tell your story, it sounds a bit like mine. It's the same old situation, it happens every time. Can't we see, oh maybe you and me, is what's meant to be. But do we disagree."
They stood up together, looking in each other's eyes.
"What if I told you -"
"What if I said -"
"That I love you, how would you feel, what would you think, what would we do? Do we dare to cross that line, between your heart and mine?"
"Would I lose a friend?"
"Or find a love that would never end?"
"What if I said?"
Mika looked away from Link.
"She doesn't love you, oh, it's plain to see. I can read between the lines of what you're tellin' me."
He looked over at Mika.
"And he doesn't hold you, the way a woman should be held. How long can I go on keeping these feelings to myself?"
"What if I told you -"
"What if I said -"
"That I love you, how would you feel, what would you think, what would we do? Do we dare to cross that line, between your heart and mine?"
Link looked down.
"I've always loved you, from the day that we met..."
"What if I said?"
"What if I said?"
"Ooo, oooh, what if I said?"
The song ended, and Mika and Link were looking into each other's eyes.
I was trapped. Her presence felt so familiar. Her warm blue eyes reminded me of Mika. Her voice, her movements, even her smell. It felt like... it felt like I was singing with her, not Aoi. She gave me a small smile.
Was it her?
I stared back at Link. It felt even better than when we sang at the karaoke club. I smiled, and he smiled back. I gave him a half hug as I said, "Ladies and gents, Link!"
The crowd cheered as Link gave a quick wave and hopped back off of the stage.
"Thank you, Link, and now, for the next song! What do you say, folks?"
"YEAH!"
Arashi was up in the rafters in her black jumpsuit once more. She watched her future father and mother sing together. Her dad didn't even know it was Mika. Arashi shook her head. Poor guy.
But never mind that. Now was the time to act. She saw Satoshi come up onto the back of the stage and look up for her. Arashi quickly and quietly transformed and nodded. Satoshi nodded back. She jumped down onto the stage.
Mika screamed.
"Chibi - Chibi Yavin IV!"
"The Sith senshi of Sorrow and Wonder! I am here to exact my revenge!" Arashi shouted. Mika began shaking, and the rest of the crowd filtered out. Arashi came for Mika slowly, but suddenly Satoshi grabbed Mika's arm.
"Aoi, come on! Run!" he shouted.
Satoshi tugged on my arm. I quickly followed, but Arashi didn't seem to be following us. He led me a long way away. I was so tired by the time he stopped. I didn't even know where we were! He had taken me out of the stadium and onto the streets of Coruscant. I wasn't familiar with where he had taken me. We were in a small room in a large building.
"Satoshi-san...where are we?" I asked, breathless. Satoshi shrugged.
"I don't know!"
"Oh, but I do," a voice from the doorway said. I whirled around.
"Chibi Yavin IV! But how?"
She laughed and began walking towards me. Satoshi didn't do anything.
"Sa- Satoshi-san! Help!"
He gave me a quick hug and kiss on the cheek, and then stepped up next to Arashi.
"What? What's going on?"
"This." Arashi gave a quick, hard punch, and the last thing I remember was falling on the floor.
The senshi group had run, except for Annika. She had tried to follow Mika, but not with much luck. Without the Force, she couldn't sense her sister anywhere. And she had left her comlink with Priire when she went to the refresher earlier, so she couldn't use that.
Now what could she do?
I awoke alone in the same room. I quickly checked for my locket. Gone. So was my lightsaber. Arashi must've taken them as soon as I was knocked out.
Oddly enough, I wasn't tied up. I ventured out with a Force call to the senshi who had been at the concert.
Something covered it like a wet blanket. Arashi.
"Don't even try," she said using the Force. I didn't even know where she and Satoshi were.
Satoshi... he betrayed me.
I didn't have time to think about that. I needed help before Arashi tried to kill me. I felt around in my pockets... there! I still had it, my comlink to Annika. I rang it up.
I heard a rustling. "Yeah, who is it?"
I gulped. It wasn't Annika - it was Priire!
"Hello? Does this work?"
I could hear Priire sigh in exasperation. "Obviously, I can hear you and you can hear me. Who are you?"
"Well, it's me, Aoi, and this Sith lady kidnapped me! I'm in a room, I don't know where! Can you help?"
I heard an odd muffled noise.
"Aoi, is there a window there?"
"N-no, there isn't -"
"Don't worry, we'll find you. Put the com away before someone finds out."
I nodded to myself. "Yeah, I will. But who -"
Priire ended the link. I grinned. Senshi help was on the way!
The question was: would they find me?
"Annika had a link to AOI?" Nami asked. Priire nodded.
"Apparently so... you know, there always was something familiar about that girl... I cannot quite put my finger on it..."
Miyuki stomped a foot. "Well, don't just stand there, transform! We gotta find her - we can't let one of music's greatest acts be killed by a Sith!"
They made sure they were alone and transformed. Priire then managed to trace the call to an old warehouse in a rundown district of Coruscant.
"Wait, what about Annika?"
Yuki shrugged. "We don't have time to go get her! Let's get going!"
And they were off.
They were off with three followers, unbeknownst to them.
It was a long while before anyone came in. When someone did, it was Satoshi.
My anger rose. "Satoshi. Why did you do this?!"
He shrugged nonchalantly. "That girl out there, she convinced me you were the one who shoved me off the stage. Tried to kill me. You were out to get rid of me and my career." He smiled oddly, his teeth gleaming. "But she told me the truth. And she is going to get rid of you for me."
"No! Listen. Satoshi, she's brainwashing you! I would never hurt you, or anyone of my friends! Besides!" I was crying and sobbing, backing away from Satoshi. "I thought... I thought you loved me?"
Satoshi laughed and kissed me on the forehead. "Used to." He leaned outside the door and called Arashi in. "Used to."
I sat down against the wall. I was going to die alone.
Arashi walked in, in her senshi form. She was tossing my Cat's Eye locket up and down. She laughed.
"Exactly." She tossed the locket across the room, so it was on the opposite side from me. "He knows your plan, Aoi." She put an arm around Satoshi. "So we made one to get you back, didn't we?" Satoshi nodded and looked Arashi in the eyes.
"Ever since that night in the hospital, I knew the truth," he said.
I gasped. All that time ago...
"And now it's time for your - our - end." Arashi pulled out my lightsaber from nowhere. She switched it on and laughed.
"So long ago, I saw you use this. It was in your future, of course, and I didn't realize it was you until you used this against me in the market a while back." Arashi waved it around slowly, and Satoshi stared in awe at it. "You left me to fulfill your own destiny. You thought you could get rid of me, and just pay attention to yourself and Father's needs." She looked at me, her dark blue eyes suddenly ice cold. "I was in your destiny, your daughter. And you left me!"
Satoshi stepped back. He hadn't known this, I guess. He must have figured out by now.
"You... Chibi Yavin IV, then... you're... Aoi, you're Yavin IV?" I nodded solemnly. "A senshi... Sailor Senshi... you tried to kill me?"
"That's what I told you all along! I never tried to kill you, it was her!" I pointed at Arashi, who was already taking action. She switched the lightsaber off and hit him hard in the head with the base of the handle. Satoshi fell to the floor, unconscious.
"SATOSHI-SAN!" I screamed. I was crying once again.
"He was always an ignorant moron. Ah, how sweet this will be... now, how shall I go about this?" Arashi began pacing, kicking Satoshi's limp body out of the way when she reached him. "Lightsaber? Sith Senshi attack? Or just bludgeon you to death?" She looked back at me, the same gleam in her eyes as always. "It would be great for Father to find you that way."
"F-father? Meet me? You mean I've already met your father?" I asked through sobs.
She nodded. "But I wouldn't be too happy. You won't see him again. And I won't tell you who he is, either." She grinned. "He'll never know either! And I..." Her face turned to a frown. "Never mind. So, let the death begin!"
"...SLASH!" Arashi ducked and screamed as the door was suddenly slashed open. By pieces of film...
Pieces of film? That could only mean -
"Stop! The Knight of entertainment is here to stop this!" Link - or Yavin IV Knight, rather - stomped through the door. I noticed all the senshi who were at the concert were there, except Annika.
"So are the other Sailor Senshi!" Sailor Hoth shouted.
"And another Knight!" Tenchi added. He actually sulked for a moment, muttering, "I ain't no girl."
"SATOSHI!" Sailor Calamari ran over to check if Satoshi was all right.
"And we will stop -" Yavin IV Knight looked over and noticed the locket across the room. By that time, Chibi Yavin IV had me by the neck, a knife to my throat.
"...Mika?" he asked slowly. That was when he noticed that I was being choked.
"H- help -"
"Let her go!" Sailor Asteroid shouted.
"You think you can stop me?" Chibi Yavin IV asked, laughing. "Stupid Senshi can't stop me! This is MY destiny, MY life, and no one else's! Go away!"
I was still crying. "Please - let me go..."
Yavin IV Knight held the locket in his hand. His grip tightened on it as Mika spoke again.
"Please - let me go..."
"You, let her go!"
She laughed harder, and the knife pressed closer against Mika's neck. "I told you, none of you could stop me! Once I get rid of her - of this wretch - I will finally be freed!" Arashi grinned.
Hoth gulped. "Free? You'll die! You won't exist!"
Arashi relaxed at the thought. "Exactly."
That was Mika's moment. She grabbed the knife and threw it across the room. It narrowly missed Yavin IV Knight's shoulder and stuck into the wall. Mika threw Arashi over her shoulder and onto the floor.
"Locket!" Mika shouted. Yavin IV Knight tossed it without a thought.
"Yavin IV Force Power, Make UP!"
Chibi Yavin IV had been released from Mika's grip as she transformed. She stood back, just in front of the other senshi. Mika's fuku had changed.
"Super Sailor Yavin IV... Never mind that! I've waited too long for this!" Chibi Yavin IV shouted. "Yavin IV Vines Entangle!"
Yavin IV was surrounded by black vines, which wound around her and tightened as well.
Yavin IV summoned the Force and got her lightsaber from Arashi's grasp. She switched it on and cut the vines all using the Force. She then grabbed the handle and switched it off.
"I do not know what happened to you in the future," Yavin IV said slowly, bringing out her Cat's Eye Staff, "but right now, my future is my own and no one else's!" Mika pulled the jewel out from the Staff and put it to her lips.
A melody came from the jewel. It sounded like an ocarina. It was the same tune that haunted Chibi Yavin IV so.
"No... NO!" She plugged her ears and stepped backwards. "NO!" Chibi Yavin IV became a cat and ran out the door quickly. Some of the Senshi began to follow.
"Don't," Mika said slowly. Her transformation was gone now. She had changed back, weak from the Super Sailor transformation. Link ran up to her as she collapsed in tears.
He caught her before she fell. She wrapped her arms around him, and Yavin IV Knight stood shocked for a moment before putting his arms around her.
"He lied, Link. He lied to me!" she sobbed into his chest. "He said he loved me... but he lied!"
Yavin IV Knight held her tight and let her cry. She was hysterical, and he didn't know what to do. The other senshi were at a standstill.
Link rested his head on Mika's.
"It'll be okay," he breathed into her hair. "It'll be all right."
They all just stood there, the only sound Mika's sobs.
Something came into Link's mind. He didn't know where it was from, but it was just... there.
"Quinn," he said softly.
Mika stopped for a moment and looked up at Link.
"My name... it was Quinn."
Mika actually smiled through her tears.
"Quinn," Mika murmured. She held him tighter.
And Link cherished this moment, all the few seconds of it, before it was interrupted by a hesitant knock.
"Um, is this a bad time?" a voice came from the door. The senshi group looked back to see three concerned band members at the doorway.
"We saw a black cat come by, and we followed these senshi people, and..." Grin trailed off, confused. "Aoi, you're a Sailor Senshi?"
Some of the senshi stood at guard.
"They know? They can't -"
Link released Mika from his grip, and she walked over to Grin, Ryo, and Apollo. She laughed and put her arms on Grin's and Ryo's shoulders.
"Guys, meet my friends, the Sailor Senshi. You've already met, actually, but in regular form, I believe."
The guys waved slowly at the senshi, who waved back in the same way.
"I would trust these guys with any secret I have," I said, grinning. "Even the fact I'm Sailor Yavin IV."
"And that's why you two look alike..." I heard from the floor. I jumped back. Satoshi was awake.
"I - I'm sorry, Aoi. I don't know what happened..."
"Help him up, guys. Satoshi-san... don't worry. You were brainwashed." I looked down at my feet. "My daughter... she's powerful, too. In the Force, I mean."
"Can we trust him?" another voice came from the doorway. It was Annika.
I nodded. "Yeah, he's learned his lesson."
I turned back to the band. "By the way... My REAL name is Mika."
And so ended THAT concert adventure. At least, sort of. I had a contract to fulfill, which included at least one full tour. I had some senshi back me up, both vocally and security wise. Link - Quinn, rather - was one of them, of course.
After that was over, I invited Satoshi, Grin, Apollo, and Ryo to the Room Behind the Waterfall, with Kyoko's permission. So now there were at least five "normal" people among the senshi in the Sailor Jedi home.
It also lets us have our own personal karaoke nights. Sugoi, ne?
